Change.gov Goes Creative Commons

Check out what Barack Obama just did for Change.gov:

President-elect Obama has championed the creation of a more open, transparent, and participatory government. To that end, Change.gov adopted a new copyright policy this weekend. In an effort to create a vibrant and open public conversation about the Obama-Biden Transition Project, all website content now falls under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 License

This means that anyone can take content from Change.gov, including high resolution videos, policy statements, and remix them to create their own versions.  A pretty innovative idea, and will only encourage people dialog over content on Change.gov.  Hmm, I wonder if this means other governments can take Barack’s speeches and use them as their own (giving him credit of course).
